Big announcement, big news! Life changes! Those of you who know me well know that I am a workaholic academic who juggles too many part-time jobs for too little pay; though not by choice, that’s just the way the literary world and academic world work, in my experience. I’ve been teaching as a ‘visiting professor’, adjunct professor, and even more recently, as a high school teacher. I’ve been waiting for a gig that recognizes my skills, hard work, and interdisciplinary experience. Admittedly, over the past few years, I was beginning to lose hope, and I was even considering switching fields. Well, the job has finally arrived! I am thrilled to announce that I will be joining the Kenyon College faculty this August as the Mellon Science and Nature Writing Fellow, 2023/24 to 2024/25. It is a two-year teaching and writing fellowship. I feel honored and overwhelmed. For those Vermonter friends of mine, fear not—I will keep one mental, emotional, and even physical foot in Vermont throughout the two years—I have a lot of reasons to make frequent visits, particularly during the summers and winter break. And, I’m still around all of this summer, so catch me before I plunge into this next phase of my weird, complicated life!
