IMAGE AND WORD, Resurrecting old work from the archives

I just found out that an artist book that I made a number of years ago, Image Burn is included in the section of the exhibit that highlights books made by students that are now in Special Collections. I made this book as part of my undergraduate thesis project with Major Jackson and Jane Kent will be on display as part of the following exhibit, from January 22-February 15:

Illuminating Words: Artists’ Books at the University of Vermont

Colburn Gallery, Williams Hall, UVM (MondayFriday)

For over 50 years, the University of Vermont’s Department of Art and Art History and Special Collections have been making, collecting and sharing artists’ books. Drawing on the rich resources in Special Collections, this exhibit celebrates book arts at UVM. Join us at 12 pm, February 14 for a gallery tour, and visit Special Collections to see our exhibit featuring Arion Press books.

Word/Image: A Conversation Across Disciplines with Major Jackson and Jane Kent

301 Williams Hall, UVM, 6:00 pm

Poet Major Jackson and artist Jane Kent will have a conversation about their on-going collaborative project and discuss their distinct ideas about the interaction of word and image. A reception will follow the conversation, and the Colburn Gallery will be open for viewing “Illuminating Words.”
