Today was a day for bonking. Many extreme hill climbs and a total of 72 miles. We passed into California fast enough, and rose up into high cliff forests on the Redwood highway. Foxgloves, tiger lilies, hawks, wood sorrel, and of course the red giants themselves. Near the Elk prairie state park, we spotted what else but the mighty Elk. Just before we collapsed, we rolled into the decrepit little town of Orick, greeted by our kind host Steve, who promptly introduced us to his goats: Sugar, Salt, Missy, and I forgot the other. Also, a whole crew of hens (ping, pong, and so on) and all of the Rabbits (Buck and the rest). Now, to sleep– on a school bus in the backyard!
schoolbus sleeping! sigh..
