We have a nice view of the fireworks from our garden, so we decided to invite the town over for a peek, but I wanted to add incentive. Everybody loves pies, especially me, so we turned it into a pie party. Ari (my house-mate) and I put together three tarts with lemon curd, rhubarb compote, blackcap berries, strawberries, and blueberries. We also made mint chocolate chip ice cream with mint from the garden and raw cream.
The pie with a pastry trellis on top was my favorite pie, still warm from somebody else's oven. Thank you, guests, for adequately filling my belly.
